The Project

Amidst Saudi Arabia’s bold reimagining of its Red Sea coastline, Shebara emerges not merely as another luxury destination—but as an architectural landmark that redefines coastal hospitality through expressive geometry, immersive experiences, and visionary lighting.

Rooted in a masterplan shaped by futurism and respect for natural context, Shebara’s sculptural forms demanded a lighting strategy that could enhance, not overpower—complement, not compete. In collaboration with Light Touch PLD, LEDFlex delivered a fully bespoke linear lighting scheme that fluidly integrates with the architecture, supporting the project's strong narrative of seamless transition between land, water, and sky.

Guests are introduced to Shebara via a striking, timber-clad arrival causeway—elevated above crystalline waters and framing the transition from yacht to resort. This experiential threshold is softly defined by Ultimo Neon 16 3D, an IP68-rated, silicone-encapsulated flexible luminaire engineered for durability in high-temeperature, outdoor environments. The warm, continuous lines of light subtly trace the structure’s edges, guiding guests with architectural clarity while preserving the serenity of the natural surroundings.

As the boardwalk progresses, it opens onto a reception courtyard, where inside the lobby, curved ceiling planes are accentuated using Ultimo Neon 16 SV. The soft glow highlights architectural curvature and adds a spatial rhythm that intuitively orients the eye and elevates the welcome experience.

The Ultimo Neon 16 3D continues its journey along the pathways and decks, establishing visual continuity and enhancing wayfinding without disrupting the ambience. A procession of over-water guest pods defines the residential typology of Shebara—each one an icon of form and function. Inside, lighting continues as a language of form. Coves within the living areas and bedrooms are softly backlit using a combination of Ultimo Neon 16 SV and TV, adapting to the architecture's fluid lines and translating the exterior’s futuristic essence into a calming interior glow. The result is a holistic guest experience—one where light is both scene-setter and silent storyteller.

Retail zones across the resort are accentuated with Lumen Line 240, LEDFlex’s ultra-high CRI linear solution, selected for its colour fidelity and optical precision. Installed within shelving, it ensures product presentation is not just visible, but radiant—enhancing textures, tones, and material richness.

Dining venues push the narrative further. At Ariamare, a Mediterranean concept by Michelin-starred Chef Marco Garfagnini, Ultimo Neon TV is deployed in custom runs beneath bar counters to bring warmth and identity to the venue. At Solera, Shebara’s avant-garde sunset lounge, Ultimo Neon 16 TV traces the base of the bar front, casting a soft accent light that mirrors the horizon—elevating sunsets into ritual.

In the spa and hammam facilities, lighting solutions had to perform in extreme conditions of heat and humidity. Here, Thermo Neon from the Flexi Neon series was the solution of choice. Designed for challenging environments, Thermo Neon delivers consistent performance and uniform glow, ensuring the spa retains its atmospheric immersion while meeting the highest durability standards.

Shebara Resort is more than a hospitality destination—it’s an orchestrated interplay of structure, nature, and emotion. Every beam of light, every glowing line is intentional—woven into the very DNA of the architecture. This synergy was made possible through the close alignment of Light Touch PLD’s design vision and LEDFlex’s technical innovation, enabling an outcome that feels both otherworldly and inherently grounded.

And through this collaborative masterpiece, the Red Sea gains a beacon of progressive, poetic design.
