At LEDFlex, our passion for lighting and technology is equalled by our dedication to reducing our environmental footprint. We have established a comprehensive framework to guide environmentally sound practices in product design, manufacturing, employee collaboration, and sustainable audits—the four pillars of our sustainability strategy. By fostering a culture of sustainability among our staff and rigorously assessing our practices, we ensure that our operations remain aligned with our core values. Our ongoing commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship drives us to continually adopt and integrate the most sustainable methods available.

Sustainability - Product

Product Design

Crafted in Britain, our luminaires boast a blend of quality and sustainability. While our materials come from the Far East, our products are meticulously designed and assembled in the UK, meeting and surpassing stringent standards. Durability is the cornerstone of our philosophy, reflected in every facet of our design process, through extensive research and development, we engineer components to ensure longevity, backed by a 5-year warranty with plans for expansion. Compliant with European Eco-Design legislation, a testament to their exceptional energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Embracing reusability, repairability, and modularity, we're dedicated to minimising waste and maximising lifespan, paving the way for a sustainable future.

Manufacturing

Our commitment to efficiency and sustainability drives our on-demand manufacturing of lighting fixtures, reducing waste and environmental impact by producing products with active demand. We further support the circular economy by using refurbished machinery whenever possible. In packaging, we aim to eliminate plastic, replacing it with recyclable paper alternatives and integrating QR codes for digital manuals to reduce printed materials. Our standardised packaging reduces the need for additional materials.

Employee Collaboration

In our climate journey, collaboration and employee engagement are essential for achieving sustainability goals. By fostering environmental responsibility, we empower our team to take ownership of initiatives, inspiring positive change through waste reduction, renewable energy adoption, ethical sourcing, and community engagement. Together, we amplify our impact by leveraging collective knowledge, creativity, and passion, fostering innovation and social responsibility. Our employee initiatives include recycling and waste reduction efforts, a plastic-free initiative, sustainable purchasing guided by a green procurement policy, participation in the Cycle to Work Scheme to reduce emissions and improve health, and Meat-Free Monday to lessen the environmental impact of our food choices.

Sustainable Audit

Sustainable audits systematically evaluate the environmental impact of our operations and products, forming the foundation for carbon management and emission reduction investments. By establishing our baseline carbon footprint through assessing direct and indirect GHG emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, we identify major emission sources and set reduction targets. Scope 1 includes direct emissions from owned sources; Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity; and Scope 3 involves indirect emissions from our value chain, such as water, waste, and transport. We comply with and exceed relevant legislation standards, using metrics like TM65 and TM66 to quantify embodied carbon and circular performance of our products. Sustainability is a continuous journey, and guided by our audits, we strive to improve, set ambitious goals, and implement innovative solutions.
